Just a short update on how things are going here in Thunder Bay this October. We just finished a fortnight of testing with the Pancake Run. Read about it here: http://fasterskier.com/article/three-thunder-bay-skiers-slip-under-pancake-milestone/
We also repeated a few other time trials we did in the spring and throughout the summer. The tests we did were the Sawdust Run (a 10.8km cross country running race at the Lappe Nordic Ski Centre), a 3km uphill running test, a strength test, and a rollerski test. The Pancake Run was our last hurrah of the two-weeks of testing.
Testing results were very promising. Everyone on the team set Personal Bests and a few Course Records fell. I had some pretty big PB's myself so the training seems to be working.
I've been in Thunder Bay for almost two and a half months straight which is probably a record. I've never been here for so long without going on some out-of-town training camp or race in my four years on the team. Luckily someone smelt snow on the winds from the west so we will be heading out to Canmore, AB. this week to train on "Frozen Thunder". Read about Frozen Thunder here: http://skitrax.com/63925/?c
We will be in Canmore for the next two weeks!
